Sexual and reproductive health information and support for teens with epilepsy

Call for social media experts

GirlswithNerve is a place where teens with epilepsy can find information about sexual health, stories from people like you, suggestions for talking with doctors about the tough stuff, and more. It’s a website by teens with epilepsy, for teens with epilepsy, and we need you to make it better. We’re looking for five teens with epilepsy to help evaluate the website, let us know what could be improved, work with us to develop new, exciting, and relevant content that will help other teens, and get the word out about the new content through social media campaigns that you design. This position is not geographically-specific, meaning that you can work from anywhere in the United States as long as you have access to the internet.

Applicants must:

  • Be between the ages of 14-19;
  • Have been diagnosed with epilepsy;
  • Actively participate from March to August 2015, including calls every other week working independently on individual projects, and other scheduled webinars/meetings;
  • Work well independently as well as in team settings;
  • Be familiar with various social media platforms, and have internet access enabling sufficient participation in this program; and
  • Have a passion for making things better for other teens with epilepsy.

Applicants will receive:

  • Mentoring from professionals working in the reproductive health field;
  • Trainings to support career development;
  • Support to develop a project/projects that support you and your interests;
  • Opportunity to showcase your work through the GirlswithNerve social media channels and to connect with other leaders like you; and
  • $500 in Visa gift cards.

People of color, non- gender- conforming folks, and others from marginalized communities are especially encouraged to apply.
